I started as a photographer in East Africa and ended up in Hong Kong working for a magazine publisher. This got me into writing columns and features for newspapers and magazines. It was a natural step from there to commercial copywriting. At one point I even co-presented a talk show on national TV (luckily no footage survives).
These days, I specialise in writing content and comms for the tech, SaaS, ecommerce, security and hospitality sectors. I write web content, web pages, emails, letters, blog posts, social media posts, LinkedIn posts, e-books, infographics, press releases and sales and marketing messages.
My favourite jobs have included creating copy for user guides for BT (hub guides, TV guides, phone guides and wi-fi guides) and sales and marketing messages for the SaaS and TaaS sectors. Both are great opportunities to hone down messaging and write simply in a compelling and engaging tone of voice. I was a rostered agency writer for BT for many years specialising in B2B and B2C comms, guides, and other customer-facing sales and marketing materials.

“I’ve worked closely with Guy and his team for the last few years and they’re an absolute pleasure to work with! They are accommodating and flexible, especially in responding to the very many urgent requests we send their way! They’ve produced a whole host of customer communications for us and really get our brand, in particular in the way we want to communicate with our customers.
They also produced user guides and other sales-enablement materials for us coming up with alternative, creative ways to present information that really engages customers – the output always being to their usual high-quality standard.”
